CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Tuition is refundable for all classes and workshops, minus a processing fee of $30 for each class dropped, if the school is notified at least one week prior to the class start date for the Multi-week Classes and 24 hours in advance for 1 day workshops (except Visiting Artists Workshops). Students are responsible for notifying the School that they wish to drop a class or workshop; not attending class does not constitute an official withdrawal from courses or cancellation of tuition or fees. If you must drop a class or workshop after the deadline, no credit will be given, except for documented medical reasons with physicians note. There is a limit of two classes per student per year that may be dropped with a refund or credit due to non-medical reasons.
Our classes requires minimum number of students to run. The class size is small. The fees for the class are based on the specific number of students enrolled in the class. This is the reason behind our refund policy.
Classes may be canceled when enrollment minimums are not reached. Cancellation begins approximately one week before the scheduled first class. Workshops and special events not meeting enrollment minimums will be canceled two to three days before the start date. Students will be notified if classes are canceled and will be eligible for a full refund or class credit.
Visiting Artists Workshop Policies:
Workshop registrants who cancel 40 days or less to the beginning of a workshop will not be refunded. A cancellation fee of $50 will be charged on all other cancellations.
We reserve the right to cancel a workshop if the minimum enrollments are not met, in which case all workshop fees will be refunded to participants. Notifications will be made two weeks prior to a workshops start date.
CJLAS cannot be responsible for airline tickets or other travel costs in the event of a cancellation.
Full payment of workshop is due in order reserve a space.
Chicago Jewelry and Lapidary School reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. If a class is canceled, students will receive a full refund. A minimum enrollment of 4 students is typically necessary for a class to run. Please register early to make sure your preferred class will run.
For classes that fall on holidays, it is up to the individual teachers and students to decide whether to hold the class or to schedule a make up class later in the session.
